By DS on January 23, 2016 Great reference book. Illustrations, tables and cartoons make it a very engaging read. It's an easily accessible guide not only for the students but also for the busy clinicians and specialists who are looking for a quick reference in the areas of medicine out side the field of their expertise.

This book is the most efficient and high yield resource that I have bought. It is a great read and the humor that is added makes learning all the more fun experience. A must have for all aspiring medicos who need to cram all the gigantic and tongue-twisting medical jargons into that innocent little head of yours

Memorizing Medicine Faster and better delivers an extremely informative account and perspective on internal medicine that a student is supposed to know to navigate the examination and practice of medicine. This book is an excellent resource to students, nurses, residents, practicing physicians and attendees. Emphasis on basic clinical medicine is the hallmark of the book. Each chapter is filled with pictures, take home messages in bold letters and easy to memorize mnemonics and colorful cartoons. These firsthand accounts provide deeper insight into what in other books is just a list of factual information. Overall, I would say this book would come very handy in learning and practicing medicine. I strongly recommend this book to others.

So pleased I found this incredibly sensible collection of easily comprehensible material on Internal Medicine, particularly for the uninitiated. Dr.Rifat Naghmi has emphasised Modern medicine that tends to divert you to the keyboard rather than eye to eye contact with the patient. Emphasis on basic clinical medicine is the hallmark of the book. Common diseases such as diabetes mellitus, hypertension, and coronary artery disease have been well described including the most recent standard of care recommendations. I strongly recommend this book to anyone seeking to learn medicine in an easy and enjoyable manner.

I purchased this book from Paras Medical books from India few weeks back. This one is a boon for exam preparation. I love the mnemonics, easy to read tables and an eye pleasing format. The practice points are highlighted and written in bold italics that makes it very easy to revise at a glance. I sailed thorough Cardiology and Endocrinology chapters imbibing the well written content and chuckling at the jokes as footnotes. This author has a great sense of humor. I am loving other chapters and plan to read this book over and over again. I recommend it to all the medical students. residents, doctors and all other medical personnel.

Such an interesting, informative and wonderful read! I've never come across a medicine book which is so concise, but all encompassing. Dr. Rifat's mnemonics make learning all the important little details of various diseases so easy and fun. This book is just what a student needs - all the information you require to answer questions in exams as well as the most recent advances. I would highly recommend buying this book

Memorizing Medicine Faster and Better has perfected the art of honing in on key information needed to pass any medical examination. Instead of pages and pages of overwhelming information, it pinpoints the most important facts needed not only to ace an examination, but to learn the fundamentals in key diagnosis and treatment of everyday medicine. You not only find the commonly used drugs to treat but their dosages and common side-effects! I like MMFB’s sensible mnemonics, illustrations, tables, and take home messages which helped me assimilate complex concepts. Sometimes I simply skip the chunks of words and turn to pictures and facts presented in bold and italics. MMFB also includes many funny cartoons and jokes which you don’t find in usual books on medicine. Overall, I would say that MMFB would come very handy in learning and practicing medicine. I strongly recommend this book to others.

I don’t regret my decision as I found Memorizing Medicine Better and Faster particularly informative about many essentials of Internal Medicine that a student is supposed to know to navigate the examination and practice Medicine. The content is extremely easy to comprehend and mnemonics, cartoons, and jokes make the reading a fun. Emphasis on basic clinical medicine is the hallmark of the book. At the same time Dr. Rifat has not ignored to update the expensive and often inaccessible investigations. I would strongly recommend this book to others.

Excellent book for medical students. Very easy to read ,understand to clarify all the medical concepts . This book is certainly written to pass the medical exams with high numbers. I was looking for this kind of book for a long time I wish if I had this book earlier in my life

Anira  On  16/08/2019

The author, Rifat Naghmi, has many accolades to his name and this book is homage to all of them. The concise manner in which he has incorporated the must-know stuff about each disease is what I have been searching for. Some days, when you are in the hospital and come across a disease you haven’t read up on since your second year of medical school when that one professor mentioned it vaguely, this book is the best way to brush up on it. It will give you the ‘can’t forget’ facts about the disease and, surprisingly, even the latest advances in treatment. I found myself referring to it back and forth while I was working at the hospital.

The author of Memorizing Medicine is a highly experienced Internal Medicine Physician with close to forty years of clinical experience and whom I have known since a young age.The medical textbook Memorizing Medicine is an effort to impart to medical students and junior doctors focusing on Internal Medicine an opportunity to grasp basic medical knowledge relevant to their studies. The book does not substitute for more comprehensive medical textbooks, something which the preface makes clear. Rather, it aims to provide medical information in a manner which is concise, lucid, easy to understand and laden with pictures, photos, illustrations, mnemonics as well as the occasional caricature in order to drive home a medical point. In this respect, the book serves as a study aid for readers to focus their medical knowledge and learning in a way which may be helpful for medical professionals both at an undergraduate and a post graduate level. The book has eleven chapters, with the disciplines of Cardiology, Endocrinology, Gastroenterology, Rheumatology, Nephrology, Neurology, Dermatology and Toxicology in that order. Each chapter focuses on the main medical conditions and diagnoses which fall under each of these specialities. The sections which deal with each medical diagnosis are characterised by descriptions of the medical condition, their pathophysiology, diagnostic tests, physical examination findings, treatment and lab and radiological investigations, when relevant, to the diagnoses in question. The frequent references to mnemonics makes it easier for medical professionals during the earlier phases of their medical training. In this way, readers can use the book both as a study aid and as a means of brushing up their medical knowledge at various stages of their medical training. The book is likely to be particularly helpful to undergraduate medical students as well as junior doctors to reinforce what they learn and experience during their work experience. However, the book can be useful at all stages of professionals' careers and hence is highly recommended as its frequent use of illustrations and simple language render reading it a pleasurable experience.

The book truely defines its name, Its really a memorizing book for medicine, very well presented , easily understandable.

DavidMD  On  26/12/2016

The book is well written, concise, educational as well as entertaining. The book combines images with text bringing the learning to another level which for me, is easier than straight text. Because the book is written in an extremely easy to understand format I am positive that medical students at any level of study, as well as the practicing physician, will thoroughly enjoy learning from this book. The cartoons remind us that sometimes medicine is stark, funny, but always real. Each cartoon has an underlying emotion making the cartoon the same yet different for others, but always humorous.

The book is an excellent and concise reference for students and practicing physicians alike. The author has put in hard work to make this edition significantly better than the previous one. The illustrations are very helpful and the information is quite up to date. The book has been made interesting to read and designed so as the reader can retain the information much longer with the help of mnemonics, diagrams, pictures and illustrations. Overall a remarkable book and a wonderful companion for any medical student, medical resident or practitioner.
